In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made…
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
John 1.1-3, 14 (NIV)
At the centre of the Christian faith stands Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Most of us hear a lot about Jesus at Christmas, but his story does not begin there. He was born of his mother just as we are, but unlike us he was around long before that, in fact from the very beginning of all things.
We believe that God – whom Christians know as Father Son and Holy Spirit – created everything we see, hear, touch, smell and feel, and all the things we can’t! Jesus was at the centre of that, right at the beginning. That’s where his story really begins.
