An exciting opportunity has risen for a Children and Families Outreach worker to join the team at Amington Parish Church.

‘The Ark’ has been an incredibly successful project for many years. It invites, for a small charge, parents, carers and childminders and the pre-school children in their care, to a warm, welcoming environment to play. There are hot drinks for the adults and toast, fruit snacks and cold drinks for the children. The Ark is an outreach from the Church and is underpinned by the Christian faith. The PCC of Amington Parish Church would also like to explore and set up a Messy Church for the wider community of Amington and the post holder will have a pivotal role within this new project.

Amington Parish Church is having an Autumn Fayre on Saturday 25th September, 2 to 4 pm.

The theme is “SCARECROWS”, If you would like to dress up just for fun feel free.

There is a competition for the best scarecrow made from any medium.

There will be all the usual fun stuff- tombola, raffle, games, book and bric-a-brac stall and most importantly tea, coffee and cake.

On 23rd July, the flats were dedicated by Bishop David, with mayor of Tamworth Michael Oates and others in attendance. It marked the end of TCHA’s medium term business plan overseen by Frank Joyce in 31 years of chairmanship of the management Committee. There are already 2 tenants in the flats.

A prayer group will be meeting in the Coffee shop on 4th September at 10 am. If you are interested in joining, please come along. If you cannot make it please pray that we can find and encourage links between Church and the Old School House.

We have received this Certificate of Commendation from our Place of Welcome Facilitator.

It goes to our team of Place of Welcome Volunteers for all the work they have done since the start of Place of Welcome in supporting the local community.

The awards did not take place last year, instead an event was held to combine the awards for 2020/2021.

Well done to all involved.
